TRANSPORT police are seeking witnesses to a fight on a train to Bridlington.
It happened on the 4.23pm train from Scarborough last Tuesday, July 12.
PC Craig Virco, investigating officer, said: “A verbal altercation took place between two men, which soon led to pushing and shoving. As the service arrived at Filey, both men left the train and a fight broke out.
Members of the public intercepted and separated the two.”
He said a window at the station was smashed and both men received injuries with one needing treatment for a hand injuries.
A 30-year-old man from Filey has been arrested and bailed until Tuesday, 6 September pending further police enquiries.
The transport police want anyone who may have seen what happened to contact them.
“We believe there were many people on board and at the station who may have witnessed this incident and I would appeal for them to come forward,” said PC Virco.
