Shop worker assaulted by boy

A SHOP worker has been assaulted by a teenage boy outside a Bridlington supermarket.

Between 7pm and 7.15pm on Thursday (June 14) two boys went up to the 28-year-old shop assistant outside the Morrison’s Supermarket, on the Bessingby Industrial Estate and stole a shovel which he had been using.

The assistant tried to retrieve the shovel as the two boys stood in his way before one of them is alleged to have assaulted him.

Another member of staff went to help the man and the two boys ran away, leaving the shovel behind.

One of the boys has been described as white, aged between 13 and 16, around 5ft 7ins tall and of a slim build. He was wearing a dark grey hoody and tracksuit bottoms.

The other has been described as white, aged between 14 and 17, around 5ft 8ins tall and of a slim build with short light brown hair. He was wearing a light grey patterned hoody.

Police have appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call Humberside Police on tel 101 quoting crime reference number 1912776.
