POLICE USE HELICOPTERS AND UNDERWATER UNIT IN SEARCH FOR JESSICA BLAKE, 14, WHO IS MISSING FROM BEVERLEY, EAST YORKSHIRE

POLICE are today continuing in the search for a 14 year old girl who has been reported missing in Beverley.

Jessica BLAKE, (14) was reported missing to police at around 1.52pm on Saturday 25 August.

Jessica was last seen at around midday in the Lincoln Way area of Beverley riding a pink coloured bicycle and carrying a yellow coloured newspaper bag.

She was wearing a dark blue/grey coloured zip up jacket, blue jeans, white trainers and a silver coloured necklace with a St Christopher motif.

Jessica is described as being 5ft 2ins tall of a medium build and with shoulder length brown hair.

Police are concerned for her welfare as this is out of charecter for Jessica and she is believed to have been in a distressed state of mind when she left home.

Specially trained officers are conducting the search for Jessica with assistance from the Humberside Police Helicopter and the underwater search unit.

Yesterday the RAF helicopter assisted officers, also.

Police can confirm that during the searches a bicycle has been recovered, however at this time police are contiuning to examine the bicycle as part of their enquiries and are not able to confirm if this is Jessica’s.

Humberside Police are aware of the current Facebook group which has been set up to assist in the search for Jessica.

At this time, to enable the specially trained officers to conducted their enquiries, police are asking for people to refrain from conducting group searches.

A further update from police will be given later today, if assistance is required tomorrow morning.
