Police are appealing to an elderly Bridlington woman to come forward after a purse was stolen from a supermarket.

The purse, which contained a large amount of cash, was mistakenly left behind in the Aldi on Thursday (November 19) at 12.30pm.

It is thought the woman shown in the CCTV may be able to help with police enquiries and are seeking the knowledge of the local community to help identify her.

A police spokesman said: "The woman shown in the image is described as aged between 60 and 70-years-old, of a large build, about 5ft 6ins tall, with shoulder length greying/light coloured hair, wearing glasses and a mid-blue long sleeved top which has a half zip fastener.

"The woman had a distinctive polka dot shopping trolley with her."
