Police appeal following attempted bag snatch

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted bag snatch between 1530hrs and 1535hrs on 29 December at the car park near Curry’s store on Bessingby Retail Park, Bridlington.

A 43-year-old woman finished putting shopping in the boot of her and when she was about to get into the drivers side a male came up behind her and tried to snatch her handbag.

The man allegedly pushed the victim into the side of her car but she managed to defend herself. The offender then left in the direction of the industrial estate without the bag.

The woman sustained minor injuries but didn’t need any medical treatment.

The offender has been described as white, aged in her mid to late 20’s and around 5ft 8ins tall with a skinny build. He had short brown hair and was wearing a grey beaney hat, a thick waist length blue coat and blue jeans.
