Man to stand trial on drug charges

A MAN accused of running a commercial drugs operation in Bridlington has been committed to Hull Crown Court to stand trial.

When police raided the home of Anthony Thorne, 46, of Hilderthorpe Road, they found £500 worth of cannabis on the premises along with £7,520 in cash and a mobile phone containing 33 text messages which implied involvement in drug dealing.

Thorne appeared at Bridlington Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday where magistrates committed his case to trial at Hull Crown Court on July 11.

He was given unconditional bail until that date.
