Double assault alleged

A MOTHER and her daughter were allegedly assaulted as they passed a group of around a dozen teenagers gathered in a town centre street.

Police say the group of males and females had gathered on Trinity Road, Bridlington and around 8.40pm last Tuesday **January 25**

One of the girls in the group is alleged to have assaulted a 16-year-old girl as she walked past them.

The mother of the victim who saw the attack went to help her and was also allegedly assaulted by another girl in the group. She received minor injuries to her knee and ankle but did not require hospital treatment.

During the same incident one of the suspects is also alleged to have broken the wing mirror on a red Fiat Punto parked on Trinity Road, by kicking it.

Police are asking any witnesses who were in the area at the time to contact them on 0845 60 60 222 quoting log number 607 of January 25. They can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
