Couldn’t remember assault.

A MAN found injured on a doorstep had so much to drink he could not remember if he had been assaulted.

The 40-year-old was discovered by a member of the public, sitting in the doorway of a house in Trinity Road, Bridlington, just after midnight on Saturday.

His injuries including two black eyes, cuts to both his eyebrows which needed stitches and swelling to his forearm.

Police, who are trying to find out what happened to him, say the man was in drink when he set off from a friend’s address in Springfield Avenue and walked along Victoria Road and Wellington Road before being discovered on the doorstep.

Officers investing the case are asking anyone who may have seen him walking home or witnessed any kind of assault, to contact them on 0845 60 60 222 quoting crime number 1810755.
