Following a number of recent burglaries in Bridlington, Humberside Police are reminding people to please make sure they do not leave their doors and windows open.

Burglary across the East Riding has reduced over the last five years, however there are still a number of burglaries occurring when people have left their properties insecure.

A third of all burglaries occur in property that has been left insecure.

Don’t risk becoming a victim of burglary – close and lock your windows and doors.

The public have a role to play too by keeping their properties secure, registering property onto www.immobilise.com so it can be identified and returned if lost or stolen and by calling Humberside Police with information about criminality.

The public are encouraged to call the police if they see people acting suspiciously in their community, if there is a burglary in progress or if they have details about those involved in criminality and can do this using 999 in an emergency, 101 in a non-emergency or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
