Two men pleaded guilty to involvement in violence on the eve of a trial at Hull Crown Court.

Malcolm Ridley 49, of Wellington Road and Andrew Smith, 19, of The Promenade, appeared before Judge Michael Mettyear on Tuesday.

Both pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm in Bridlington on 3 April.

Both initially denied the charges, but changed their minds with witnesses on standby to attend court.

Sentencing was adjourned for background reports to be prepared.

They will be sentenced on 26 March.
