Appeal to locate cyclist involved in a road traffic collision on Newbegin, Hornsea

Police are appealing for a cyclist to come forward who is reported to have been involved in a collision with a red Suzuki Alto around lunchtime in Hornsea on Monday 30 September 2013.

The collision is alleged to have happened on Southgate in Hornsea after the driver of the Suzuki Alto performed a left turn into Southgate from Newbegin at around 1245hrs on Monday 30 September.

The woman driver reported that as she approached the junction of King Street, a cyclist pulled out of the junction and collided with the front of the car as the driver attempted to make a safe stop. The windscreen of the vehicle is believed to have shattered due to the impact.

The cyclist, described as a 16 to 17 year old youth appeared to have sustained a minor injury to his leg but left the scene with another boy of around the same age, and did not engage with the driver.

A female passer by is reported to have spoken to the woman driver at the time and police would also like to speak to this lady to gain her account of the incident.

The cyclist, the woman passer by or anyone else who may have information in connection with this incident is asked to call Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 quoting log number 308 of 30 September 2013.
