Officers investigating the assault of a woman in a Bridlington street are appealing for a man who came to her aid to come forward.

The victim was approached by a man and a woman who were known to her in Windsor Crescent, at around 6.20pm on Tuesday, January 12.

The pair were travelling in a silver car and asked her for money she owes to the man.

When she said she didn’t have it, the woman is said to have got out of the car and assaulted her, grabbing her blue handbag when she fell to the floor.

The bag was thrown back to her when it was found to be empty and the pair drove away.

Officers investigating the incident are now keen to speak to a man who came to the victim’s aid and walked with her for a time.

He is described as white, in his 40s, around 5ft 9in tall, with dark short hair, wearing work clothing.

The man – and anyone else with information about the incident – are asked to call 101, quoting crime reference number 2162777 of January 12.
