A PENSIONER has appeared in court charged with four separate counts of rape over a five-year period.

David Reginald Robinson, 65, of Rickaby Close, Bridlington, has been charged with raping a female over the age of 16 on four occasions between 1999 and 2004.

Robinson has also been charged with harassment after allegedly causing a person, who cannot be named for legal reasons, to fear violence would be used against them.

Robinson, who wore a dark suit for the brief hearing, was represented by his solicitor.

The case was committed to Hull Crown Court where a preliminary hearing is due to take pace on March 30, followed by a plea and case management hearing on May 23.

Mr Robinson was given conditional bail, which states that he must not approach or interfere with named prosecution witnesses.
