£24,000 ring stolen from Bridlington jewellers

A DIAMOND ring worth £24,000 has been stolen from a Bridlington town centre jewellers.

Police are searching for a man who stole the ring from Griffins Jewellers on Prospect Street, in Bridlington, on Saturday January 21 between 12.45pm and 1257pm.

Police say a man, dressed in a grey hooded top with a white top underneath, dark trousers and a hat, which could have been woollen or a baseball cap, entered the store and asked a female shop assistant if he could look at some earrings on display in the window.

It is alleged the man reached past the shop assistant into the window display and snatched the ring without detection, and left the store.

The man is decribed as white, aged between 30 and 42 years old and of a medium build.
