Fire crews were called out to a blaze in the living room of a house in Easton Road, Bridlington, in the early hours on Monday.
A wooden window was on fire and the rest of the premises was heavily smoke-logged.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the flames and used a fan to ventilate the property.
Another call-out on Saturday came after a deep fat fryer caught fire near to the harbour.
The owners of the cafe had managed to put a wet towel over the fryer to put the fire out, and taken it outdoors before the crews arrived.
There was fire damage to the worktop and smoke damage to the kitchen and the fire service used fire blanket as a precaution.
Oxygen therapy was given to a woman who was suffering from slight smoke inhalation.
