A CRACKED pipe has led to the closure of the wave pool at Bridlington’s Leisure World complex just at the start of the school summer holiday season.
The pool closed on Sunday, July 22 after council officials noticed a problem, and it was drained for further investigation.
It was later found that a cracked pipe had caused water to leak from the pool.
Now East Riding of Yorkshire council, which runs Leisure World, said it is making arrangements to fix the problem and reopen the pool.
A spokesperson for the council said: “The pool was closed on Sunday after the problem came to light, and after draining it was found that a cracked water pipe was the cause.
“The pool remains closed at the moment, and unfortunately we are no closer to being able to say when the wave pool will reopen.
“We are working out costs and making arrangements to get the pool open again as soon as we can.”
In the meantime, the council spokesperson confirmed that all activities scheduled to take place in the wave pool will be transferred to the main pool in Leisure World.
