A grateful Bridlington couple have praised Bridlington Lions Club for their support during a difficult pregnancy.
Antonia Fox, 23, and partner Simon, 25, of Kent Square, wish to thank the Lions Club for transporting the couple to and from Leeds every 4 weeks for specialist treatment.
Not only do the club provide transportation but they also wait around for the duration of each three and a half hour treatment session.
Antonia said: “We couldn’t get support from the NHS or any other charities, we are just so grateful the lions stepped in to help us.
“We had no idea they did this type of thing we thought they just did the fireworks display.”
The couple say without the support of the Lions they would not be able to travel to and from Leeds for treatment.
Four years Antonia ago lost her baby five months into her pregnancy and recently learned that The Lions Club and The Masons were providing funding for a gravestone.
Simon and Antonia , who have two children Eliot, 3, and Lee, 4, believe people should appreciate the kind of work that the lions do.
Antonia said: “I don’t think the Lions get the recognition they deserve.
“It restores your faith in community these people going out of their way, and getting no money in return.
“We wouldn’t be able to get through without them.”
