ACTRESS Paula Lane swapped the cobbles of Coronation Street for Poundland in Bridlington to offically open the store at the weekend.
Visitors flocked to the new shop in the Promenades Shopping Centre to catch a glimpse of Paula who is infamous as the soap’s troublemaker Kylie - Becky McDonald’s sister and David Platt’s wife.
Paula posed for pictures and signed autographs as she helped get the party started at the store’s family fun day where a DJ entertained the crowds and many lucky shoppers won vouchers to spend in the new store.
David Coxon, Trading Director at Poundland said: “We are delighted to see that the shoppers of Bridlington welcomed us into the community.
“Poundland offers amazing value on many household and branded products and we hope that local customers here will enjoy making us part of their weekly shop.”
Poundland opened on Thursday last week and has created 30 new jobs in the town.
