A LOCAL church in desperate need of repair will hold an open afternoon to raise funds next month.
St Andrews Church in Ulrome, part of the Christ Church Network, obtained a substantial grant from English Heritage which, along with other grants and fund-raising efforts, means that the congregation is only around £2,500 short of the £140,000 it needs to begin the work.
The open afternoon will be held on Monday, May 2, from 12.30pm to 4pm.
The event will help to raise awareness of the proposed restoration and to show what work is to be done.
There will be a display of bridal gowns and flowers, and refreshments are available.
