The chums, who work together at Gable House Nursery, were spurred on by cheering friends as they dashed into the waves on Saturday (March 18).
Susan said: “It was cold – very cold.

“April was nervous about it at first but she actually really enjoyed it!”

Being no stranger to the challenge, Susan said she decided to dedicate her latest dip for brave cancer battler, Eve Gascoigne.

“I have done it before in the past for other charities like Candlelighters.

“One of our staff children goes to the same school as Eve.”

The money Susan and April raised from their chilly dip will be added to an ever-growing pot of donations for Eve that is rising by the day.

And tomorrow (Saturyday March 25) Gable House Nursery is holding a family fun day in aid of the six-year-old.

It takes place between 11am and 2.30pm.
