CHILDREN from Chernobyl have spent the day enjoying the attractions of Bridlington during a month long visit to the UK.
Pictured are a group of children who have travelled all the way to the UK from the area of the Ukraine still living with the after effects of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster of the late 1980s. The visit was a joint initiative between Garforth Lions Club and Bridlington Lions Club, with the youngsters being hosted by families in Garforth, Leeds.
During their visit to Bridlington the visitors spent time on the beach and in the amusement arcades before taking the land train to Sewerby where they enjoyed a fish and chip lunch in the Methodist Hall.
Bill Whittle of the Bridlington Lions Club said everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
