VOLUNTEERS at a Bridlington charity shop have presented a Spring surprise to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Elsie Lawrence from Southside charity shop, on Horsforth Avenue donated £1,496.40 to Bob Smailes, Regional Fundraiser for the Air Ambulance, at a presentation at Rags restaurant last week.

They will donate the same amount towards helping leukaemia patients at Castle Hill Hospital at a presentation next week.

Mr Smailes said: “I would like to thank everyone at the Southside charity shop for this donation.

“The money saved represents paying for three rescues, and potentially saving three lives.”
