AFTER 25 years as chairman of the Bridlington group of Unison Retired Members, Alan Fisher is stepping down.

He is retiring from the role and his post is being taken over by new chair, Janet Padwick.

Mr Fisher moved to Bridlington with his late wife Leigh after retiring from Sheffield City Council as Transport Manager.

The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 2pm at Bridlington Town Hall and usually has a different speaker each month followed by refreshments and a chance to chat.

A non-political organisation, it meets purely for social occasions including lunches and the occasional outing.

All former members of Unison, Nalgo or COSHE are welcome.
