Bridlington’s Martongate Co-op has reopened following a £1.3m makeover.

The shop has new self-service tills and will be using its membership scheme to make donations to 1st Bridlington Scout Group and Bridlington Talking Newspaper

Pupils from Martongate Primary School were joined by the mayor of Bridlington, Cllrr Liam Dealtry, to cut the ribbon on Thursday.

Manager Colin Verschoor said: “We are delighted to have made such a significant investment in our Bridlington Martongate store, it has a great new look and we are looking forward to re-launching and serving the community.

“Our ambition is to establish the store as a local hub, a real asset for the community.
