While some town centre traders and guest house owners suffered a poor Easter, one Bridlington caravan park say they had a record year.
The South Cliff caravan park say that they had their best ever Easter, and are optimistic of how the rest of the summer season will go.
Alex Crutchley, senior facility manager at the park, said: “We were absolutely fully booked over the Easter weekend, and our orders book shows us being 2-3% up on bookings over last year.
“I think that people have been itching to get away because of the cold weather we have been having and Easter was the first opportunity. Looking at our bookings, things also look positive for May and into the summer.”
Alex said that the park, which has 180 tent and touring pitches as well as space for static caravans, attracts a lot of his clientele from the West Riding and Hull, while people also regularly travel from places like Nottingham and Derby.
“We have lots of repeat bookings but this Easter shows that new customers are trying us out,” continued Alex.
