A new Bridlington business suppyling motocross equipment is hoping to benefit from the sport’s growing popularity in the area.

Scoot MX has opened at the Railway arches at Station Avenue, and is a joint venture between husband and wife Daniel and Sian Hart and Chris Gowland, of Gowland Motorcycles which is based next door to the new shop.

The new business opened its doors three weeks ago, and supplies specialist motocross equipment, clothing and accessories.

Sian said: “It is a sport that is getting more and more popular and nowhere in the area really supplies this type of thing, so we’re hopeful that it will be a success.”

Sian’s six-year-old son Michael takes part in the sport – a form of motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits – as well as Chris’ son Harry, who is eight years old, who will this year begin to race competitively.

Sian worked at Manor Court before opening the business, while her husband still runs a window cleaning company in the town.
