Reception teacher Zoe Newby said that the children had recently been learning about castles, and enjoyed a fun-filled day.

She said: “Everyone had so much fun, in fact one of the children at the end of the day said ‘it was the best day ever’. All of the teachers dressed up as well as the children.

“We have been doing lots of work in class but days like this, when the kids make an effort to get dressed up and we put on different activities, are very memorable and make sure the lessons really stick in the children’s mind.

“A big thank you to all of the parents who put the effort in to make costumes and every one else that helped out.”

On the day, children were treated to jousting, target practice, singing and even a medieval banquet.
