Young people from Bridlington Youth Forum hosted a traditional Christmas meal for those who feel lonely and vulnerable at Christmas time on Monday 21 December. The event was a great success with over 30 people coming along. The project was made possible via a generous donation from the Dewhirst Charitable Trust and was co-ordinated by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Youth and Family Support service.
Tim Dewhirst, chairman of the Dewhirst Charitable Trust, said: “The Trust is delighted to help fund this initiative and shows that young people have not lost sight of the true meaning of Christmas.”
In addition, Bridlington Youth Forum would like to thank The Spa, Bridlington Rotary Club, The Hangout Youth Club, Milners Bakers, Hopwells and any other suppliers for their donations. A special thank you goes to Spa chefs John and Martin for cooking such a wonderful meal.
