A BRIDLINGTON teenager has beaten off competition from over 100 other girls to make it through to the finals of an inaugural beauty pageant.
Jasmine Page, 14, has made it through to the finals of the first ever Miss Teen Beverley Galaxy contest.
Jasmine took part in the semi-finals in June and will now compete for the Miss Beverley title and crown at the Royal Hotel, in Hull on Sunday August 26.
Jasmine, who spends five days a week at London’s Barbara Speake Stage School and returns home to Bridlington on weekends, has spoken of her excitement ahead of the final.
“I’m really excited, I have never done a pageant before and to know that I have got through to the finals, I’m really pleased,” said Jasmine who lives with her mum Donna and dad Steve.
Jasmine said she has always loved being on stage and the pageant will be a fantastic platform for her as she looks ahead to a career in the spotlight possibly in musical theatre or as a singer-songwriter.
Jasmine will compete in three different rounds - daywear, partywear and eveningwear.
“I’m a bit nervous but I can’t wait for it to happen. I have met so many people through this and the all the girls are lovely,” Jasmine said.
“My mum and dad are really proud of me, it’s just a huge leap to be able to do something like this,” she added.
