Bridlington schools to close due to strike action

MOST of Bridlington’s schools will be closed on Wednesday, November 30 due to strike action.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the local education authority responsible for schools, have announced on their website that the following local schools will be closed.

• Bay Primary School

• Bridlington Childrens Centre - both sites.

• Bridlington Nursery

• Burlington Infants School

• Burton Agnes Primary School

• Gembling School

• Headlands School (Year 7-11 only, sixth form open as normal)

• Hilderthorpe Primary School

• Kilham Primary School

• Martongate Primary School

• New Pasture Lane Primary School

• Quay Primary School

• St Mary’s RC School

• Sunshine Nursery

• Wold Newton Primary

Announcements will continue to be made so keep checking the website for updates on other schools not yet mentioned.

Some union members at Bridlington Hospital will be holding a peaceful protest outside the hospital on Wednesday morning.
