Bridlington’s MP Greg Knight was among the mourners who attended yesterday’s funeral of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
And Senior Aircraftman Jamie Straker, 23, of Bridlington from the Queen’s Colour Squadron, RAF followed Baroness Thatcher’s Union Flag-draped coffin down the aisle of St Paul’s Cathedral, carrying the caps of the eight pallbearers.
Mr Knight attended the service at St Paul’s Cathedral and said he found the whole experience very moving and one he was proud to have been a part of.
“It was a very moving occasion which I was honoured to attend,” he said.
Mr Knight is pictured at the funeral with MP for Scarborough and Whitby Robert Goodwill who also attended the service, in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen.
Also attending were Prime Minister David Cameron, former Prime Ministers Sir John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown as well as numerous foreign dignitaries.
