TEDDY bears were donated to the ambulance service in order to help comfort children who have undergone frightening ordeals.
The Bridlington Lions Club supplied the “para teddys” to front line emergency ambulance services in the local area at Bridlington ambulance station on Monday, September 10.
The bears will be used by paramedics not only to comfort children but for them to point to where they are feeling pain.
Lion, Gary Hedges, said: “It is something the Bridlington Lions have done for years and we try to get them into places that you can help people.
“The idea of para teds is for ambulances all to have these just to help relax the children.”
He said the teddy bears are also used by paramedics when women are in labour, and the para ted is given to the new born child.
Fund-raising events are held throughout the year to go towards the cost of the bears.
