FIREFIGHTERS have been busy tackling two fires in fields in the Bridlington area in recent days.
Pictured are firefighters tackling a blaze which spread through 200 square metres of stubble in a field near Burstall Hill.
One fire engine from Bridlington attended at around 3.30pm last Wednesday.
The fire was tackled using three beaters and a backpack fitted with a water pump.
A spokesman for the Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was started deliberately.
A fire crew from Bridlington was also called out in the early hours of last Friday after the deliberate burning of bales in a field on the outskirts of Bempton got out of control.
The fire service were called shortly before 6am and spent an hour and a half on the scene tackling the blaze.
The fire was extinguished using four beaters, two haydrags and ceiling hooks, while the farmer used a tractor to break up the bales.
