TWO talented Bridlington brothers are putting the finishing touches to a graffiti show which will take place in the town next month.

Robert and Richard Pickersgill, 25 and 27, of Meadowfield Road, will hold the show behind the Queens Hotel in the Old Town on August 3 and it is already shaping up to be an unmissable occasion.

Robert said: “We’ve got 8 to 10 graffiti artists from across Yorkshire coming to the event, who will all be bringing their work and painting live on the day.

“There will be live music and we have a rapper coming from Hull to perform.

“Me and my brother both got into this as a hobby when we were out of work, but we made a business plan and we do commissions now.”

This is not the first graffiti event Robert and Richard have staged, but they have previously organised a show in York and had an exhibition of their work at the Spa in January.

The brothers are now in the process of repainting a huge 14ft canvas which they hope will capture people’s imagination on the day of the evet and maybe inspire others to have a go at making graffiti art.

Tickets for the event, which starts at 7pm on Friday August 3, cost £5 and are avaliable from www.funkdocs.com.
