A Bridlington band are edging closer to the top after releasing their first single.
Local favourites Edge of 13 released ‘Deja Vu’ on iTunes and other music downloading services on Monday, one of three singles that the group recorded with the Animal Farm record label in London at the end of last year.
‘Sunset Smokes’ will be released in July, and ‘Dirty Cigarette Burns’ will come out in September.
Guitarist Kris Macleod said: “A lot of our friends have already bought it, but people from further afield have been downloading it so we’re hoping for it to be a success. It was one of the first ones that (bassist) Nick and I wrote together. We’ve got another guitarist in the band now and it has helped make our sound a bit more rounded.”
Edge of 13 came together as a three piece in 2010 with Kris, drummer Josie Fletcher and Nick Asquith - with guitarist John Bateman joining late last year before the recording sessions.
The band look set to tour around the UK and will play at Vivaz in Scarborough on Sunday, next playing in Bridlington in June. You can find out more by visiting the band’s website www.edgeof13.co.uk or following them on Twitter or Facebook.
