AN ACCOUNTANCY firm based in Bridlington has walked away with a prestigious national award.

Lloyd Dowson Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors won the Most Innovative Accountancy Practice in Great Britain award at the 2020 Consulting Group annual conference last Thursday.

Lloyd Dowson beat off competition from 650 other firms across the UK at the ceremony, which was held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

Chairman of Lloyd Dowson, David Dowson said he was “delighted” to receive the award on behalf of the 54 strong team.

“The award is in recognition of the hard work and commitment given to our client base, clearly setting out our policy that our Clients and our Team are our priority,” said Mr Dowson.

“We have been in the top three for the last five years so the award has been hard earned.

“We have many new ideas which will benefit our client base in 2013 aimed around client service. We are relishing defending our title as a top national practice who can handle all ranges of clients from sole traders to large companies - we are busy and looking for more.”

Judges chose Lloyd Dowson on criteria including continuity of practice, their focus on clients, pro-active provision of advice, effectiveness, valuing people and delivering excellent value for money.

Special guest speakers at the event included business leader Lord Digby Jones, and Premier League football referee, Graham Poll.
