SHOPS around Bridlington have teamed up to stage a treasure hunt in the run up to the town’s big Christmas event.

More than 30 stores are taking part in the treasure hunt competition which is giving
participants the chance to win £50 in cash and a family ticket to see the Beauty and the Beast pantomime at the Spa Bridlington.

Letters are on display in the shops, which when pieced together will spell out a well known Christmas phrase.

Once you have worked out what the phrase is, put your entry along with your name, address and telephone number on a postcard and return it to the Free Press office at 3 Prospect Street, Bridlington, YO15 2AQ or drop it into the post box in the Promenades Shopping Centre.

The last date for entry is Saturday, December 15 to coincide with the town’s Christmas event which is taking place at the Promenades Shopping Centre from 11am to 4pm that day.

The retailers taking part in the treasure hunt are as follows:

Boyes Ltd, Thomas the Baker, Thorntons, Store 21, Quay Carpets, Herbert Browns, Barkers, Sports Direct, Zain, Cooplands, Sandwich Shop, Shoe Zone, Card Factory, Bridlington Stationers, New Look, Quayside Diner, Select, Poundland, Spa Bridlington, Sole Diva, JD Sports, Rymans, Argos,
Bodycare, Extreme, Be Swanky, John Bull Rock, Hallmark Jewellers, 3 phone shop, and Boots.

A retail window display will also be running throughout December and the winner, chosen by public vote and a panel of judges, will be awarded a trophy on the day.

To enter the competition complete the coupon below and return it to the Free Press offices, on Prospect Street by Friday December 14.

Santa Claus and Mother Christmas will also be at the Promenades Shopping Centre in the run up to the Christmas event and afterwards on the following dates:

Thursday November 29, December 6, 13 and 20 from 5pm to 7pm; Saturdays December 1,8, and 22 from noon to 4pm; Saturday December 15 from 11am to 4pm; and Sundays December 2, 9, 16 and 23 from noon to 4pm.
