COMMITTEE members of Marie Curie Fundraising in Bridlington have thanked residents of the town for helping them raise well over £2,000.
Over the past few months, the impressive amount has been raised by donations from a number of local people and groups.
Charlie Kilburn at the Ship Inn, Sewerby, allowed Marie Curie to collect at the annual bonfire, which raised £193.
The Marie Curie ‘Taste of Autumn’ evening at Bridlington North Library raised £310 and was so enjoyable committee members hope to do it again this year.
Another £1,100 was donated after three recent funerals, while Richard Sanderson gave £403 after his trek to Nepal.
Practice One at Bridlington Medical Centre on Station Avenue gave the fantastic sum of £519, which was raised from patients donating when they went for a flu jab.
Martongate Primary School raised £113.50 after collections at Christmas nativities.
A Marie Curie quiz will be held at the Ransdale Hotel on Monday, February 4, 7.30pm for 8pm – no tickets are required.
Throughout March, the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal will begin and will see committee members out and about selling the flowers.
