A BRIDLINGTON baker will swap his loafs and cakes for shorts and trainers when he takes on the Bridlington Half Marathon for charity.
Gary Woolven, 35, who works at the town’s Tesco store, will run the race in aid of Cancer Research UK.
He said: “I’ve done a bit of running in the past, but I will have to step up my training for the half marathon. I took part in the sponsored charity leg wax last week, so hopefully I’ll be a bit more aerodynamic.”
Gary ran the Bridlington Half Marathon, which this year takes place on Sunday October 21, three years ago, and this time wants to run for his auntie Janet, who celebrated ten years clear of breast cancer recently.
“All my family have been fundraising, and it’s great that she has gone 10 years clear now.”
If you would like to sponsor Gary in the race, you can go into Tesco and pick up a sponsor form on the customer service desk.
