A CAMPER van carrying a gas cylinder caught fire yesterday whilst being towed along the A165.
Firefighters from North Yorkshire Fire Service were called to the scene at the Dotterel roundabout, near Reighton, at 1.06pm on Monday 3 September to extinguish the blaze.
The camper van was completely destroyed by the fire, for which the cause is unknown, and there were no casualties.
Engines from Filey and Bridlington attended the scene to douse the blaze and cool the gas cylinder with a jet of water.
The vehicle had left the main road once aware of the blaze as they were concerned about the gas cylinder in the camper van.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the fire using two hose reels.
