More than 120 bikers took to the roads on a scenic ride from Kilham to Hull and raised thousands of pounds for charity in the process.

The Kilham Bikers would like to thank everyone who helped out on the 19th Stephen Cowton Memorial Easter Egg Run 2015 which took place on Easter Sunday.

More cash was raised by the bikers through their charity supper at Harpers fish and chip restaurant at Staxton, bringing the total raised to £3800.

The cash will be split between Ganton Special School and Special Stars Foundation, a charity which provides activities for local children and young people with disabilities.

Bikers spokesperson Fran Cowton said the group especially wanted to thank local businesses who provided prizes for a raffle and auction which took place on the bikers’ return to The Bay Horse, Kilham after the run.

She said: “Once again thanks to everyone who supported the event because without you it just wouldn’t happen.

“We’d also like to thank to Trish and Mark at the Bay Horse for their continued support.”

Kilham Bikers have now started their summer ride-outs, the details of which can be found on the web page at www.kilhambikers.co.uk or by calling in at the Bay Horse, Kilham.

The rides start at 6.30pm every Wednesday, weather permitting.

Bikers come from a wide surrounding area and organise ride-outs and tours in groups from two upwards to suit as required.
