Do you remember Danny Holmes?

His father Michael Holmes hopes his friends and acquaintances will remember the former Headlands School student who went on to work at Carnaby Steel Structures and later at M-Tech Composite Carbon, also at Carnaby.

A serious car accident claimed his life in 2006.

Now his father Michael, 62, of Carnaby, together with two friends, is to make a 160 mile cycle ride from Morecambe to Bridlington in June to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

To make the hilly route even more of a challenge they hope to do it all in one day.

The Air Ambulance was called to Danny’s car crash near Bessingby, Bridlington, along with other emergency services.

Michael said: “In this instance they were unable to save Danny but helping this charity can stop others losing somebody like him.

“Danny was an extremely popular young man with lots of friends.

“I hope everyone who knew him will read this article in the Free Press and help with a
donation, however small, and pass the message on to others.

“Yorkshire Air Ambulance relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire, and to keep both air ambulances in the air nearly £10,000 per day is needed.”

Anyone wanting to remember Danny can make a donation online at the website www.justgiving.com/remembering-danny-holmes.

Donations can also be made on a mobile by texting DANH 83 followed by a space then the amount to 70070.
