ORGANISERS have hailed last weekend’s Bempton Victorian market as the ‘best ever’ after thousands of people descended on the village to enjoy a host of Christmas treats.
Coun Richard Burton said that the 52 stalls at the market was a new record total - and that the day went “fabulously well.”
Coun Burton said: “The weather is obviously a big part of things and we had a wonderful window of weather.
“We had 52 stalls I think which is the most we have ever had.
“We say it every year but once again the market was bigger and better than ever. Thousands of people visited during the day and enjoyed all the stalls.”
Chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Coun Chad Chadwick, opened the event at 11am on Sunday.
