A GROUP of Brid kids are celebrating after receiving a personal message from royalty.

Children at Bay Primary School entered a competition at school to design outfits for the Royal Wedding, with the designs of the winners and runners up sent to Prince William and Kate Middleton along with their best wishes for the big day.

Within a week, the nine children who had their designs sent away received back a personalised certificate of thanks from St James’s Palace.

Headteacher at Bay Primary, Mrs Hobbs, said: “The children loved designing the outfits, but if we’re honest, when we sent them off we didn’t really expect a response, so for the children to receive a certificate adressed to each one of them they were thrilled.

“Everyone at the school got into the spirit of the Royal Wedding, but when the children receive something back from the Royal Family it kept it going for them and made it even more memorable.”
