Archbishop Sentamu will be visiting Bridlington from Friday September 25 to Sunday September 27, to lead Holy Trinity church’s weekend of mission.

Archbishop Sentamu said: “Alongside the people from Holy Trinity church, I’m hoping to meet as many people as I can in Bridlington over the weekend of September 25 to 27.

“I’m inviting everyone in the area around Holy Trinity church and St John’s in Sewerby to come to these events and get to know the people from their local church.

“Whether you’re joining us for the Harvest Supper or the Art Exhibition, you’ll be made very welcome.

“I look forward to meeting you.”

The Rev David Mather, vicar of Holy Trinity church, Bridlington, said: “We’re delighted that Archbishop Sentamu is coming to help us with this weekend of mission. “It’s a chance for us to get to know the people in our community, and to share some of our church life with them.

“I do hope lots of people come to meet Archbishop Sentamu and hear his stories of life and faith.”

On the Friday evening, people can meet Archbishop Sentamu at a Harvest Buffet at Holy Trinity church at 7pm.

On Saturday, the Archbishop will be talking about his new book Hope Stories at Holy Trinity from 10am to noon. Hope Stories tells the real life stories of 20 people, showing how their faith gave them hope in the darkest moments, whether they were facing terminal illness, drug addiction, depression and temptation to suicide.

The Archbishop will also be talking at St John’s Church Hall, Sewerby, visiting the church’s Art Exhibition and afternoon tea. On Sunday, he will be preaching at the Holy Trinity church at 11am.
