Bridlington residents have been urged to give blood at a donor session in the town next week.
Blood donors are urgently needed to give blood on Tuesday April 9 at Emmanuel Church, Cardigan Road, between 2.15pm and 4pm or 5pm to 7.30pm.
Donna Batty, Lead Donor Relations Manager for NHS Blood and Transplant for Yorkshire and the North, said: “More daylight makes us all feel better and like we have more time and we’re asking people to think about giving blood as they start to make more plans.
“Being willing to spare some free time, a couple of times a year, means you can help us to save lives.
“We urge regular donors and those who haven’t been for some time to book appointments now. We also need new donors, especially 17 to 24-year-olds, and would encourage people to find out more and sign up.”
Anyone aged between 17 and 65, weighing more than 50kg (7st 12lbs) and in general good health could potentially start saving lives by becoming a blood donor.
There is no upper age limit for donors who have donated in the last two years.
Please book an appointment prior to attendance to ensure that waiting times are kept to a minimum by calling 0300 123 23 23 or by visiting the website www.blood.co.uk
