HUSBAND and wife team Chad and Margaret Chadwick are to be ambassadors for Bridlington.
Chad, 69, has been an East Riding of Yorkshire Conservative councillor for Bridlington South Ward since 2007, and his wife for several years before that.
At the council’s annual general meeting in Beverley last Thursday, he was selected as vice chairman of the authority. Margaret will act as his consort.
The couple, who live in Bessingby village, were returned as Bridlington South Councillors in this month’s elections, both with an increased number of votes.
“We are looking forward to our new role. The job of the chairman and vice chairman is mainly that of ambassador and we will certainly be promoting Bridlington,” said Chad.
At the same meeting, the vice-chairman Coun Kay West, of Pocklington, was elected the new chairman of the council. Coun West and Coun Chadwick will service until May 2012.
