A TEENAGE girl has needed hospital treatment for head injuries after an alleged assault in Bridlington.
A 14-year-old girl sustained the head injuries, as well as numerous cuts and bruises, following the alleged assault at the junction of Fairfield Road with Richmond Street last Wednesday (July 18).
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said at around 8pm a 14-year-old girl and a female friend were walking along Fairfield Road towards another girl who they knew.
The other girl then allegedly assaulted the 14-year-old causing her to fall onto the floor and injure her head, ribs, thigh and knee as well as cuts and bruises for which she needed treatment at Bridlington Hospital.
A female member of the public is believed to have intervened and pulled the offender off the 14 year old girl, before she ran away.
Police have appealed for the member of the public who helped the girl and anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call Humberside Police tel 101 quoting crime reference number 1919204.
