Alleged assault on blind woman and her guide dog at Nafferton

Police are hunting a man who is alleged to have attacked a blind woman’s guide dog before turning on her.

The incident is alleged to have happened in broad daylight on Middle Street, Nafferton, at between 10am and 10.30am on Wednesday 28 February.

A police spokesperson said: “A 44-year-old partially sighted woman was walking with her guide dog when she was approached by a man and his dog.

“It’s alleged the man struck the guide dog with a lead. When she challenged the man he then allegedly hit the woman on the back of her leg with the lead before walking off.”

The man is believed to have been with a small brown-coloured dog.
