Caring work colleagues will be blowing away the January blues with a fun fitness session to help Saint Catherine’s.

Staff of Lloyd Dowson, the Bridlington-based chartered accountants, tax and business advisors, will be getting together for an after-work martial arts session as their first charity event of the new year.

They will be joined by colleagues from the firm’s Scarborough office for the workout as part of their continuing support for the hospice. A similar event last year raised almost £200 through sponsorship and staff donations.

Vanessa Rowbottom, marketing manager for Lloyd Dowson, said: “We do so many fund-raising events and our staff always get involved and take it in such good spirit.

“We’re here to support the community and it’s great that our staff share in being part of that.”

The event will be held next Wednesday at the Bridlington Martial Arts and Fitness Centre, where he club’s head coach Stuart Hicken will be putting members of the team through their paces.

Carolyn Jackson, fund-raising manager for Saint Catherine’s, said: “We really appreciate their help. The money raised will go towards patient care.”
